Halloween Barrel Bash

Morgan City will celebrate Halloween with a full day of horses, barrel racing, family activities, and Halloween festivities at the Halloween Barrel Bash on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at the Morgan City Horse Arena.
The action begins in the morning with BBR-approved exhibitions from 9:00 to 11:00 AM, followed by a full schedule of competitive events.
At 11:30 AM, young riders can take part in the Little Buckaroos Leadline, with entry set at $15. The $1,000 Added 5D Open Barrels begins at noon, with a $40 Open entry and $20 Age Group rollovers. A 3D Pole Bending competition will follow immediately after the barrel race, with a $25 entry fee. There is also a $10 pen fee per rider, and the event will offer a 75% payout.
While the daytime competition provides plenty of action for riders and spectators, the Halloween Barrel Bash also offers activities for the entire family. Kids can enjoy pony rides and horse riding throughout the event, giving young cowboys and cowgirls an opportunity to get up close with the horses.
The Halloween festivities continue into the evening with a Trunk-or-Treat at 6:00 PM. Families can enjoy decorated vehicles, costumes, candy, and plenty of Halloween fun. Those who would like to participate by decorating a vehicle and handing out candy are encouraged to bring candy and reserve their spot. For Trunk-or-Treat participation, call 985-380-4716.

The event will be held at the Morgan City Horse Arena, 1457 Youngs Road in Morgan City, and is open to the public.
Parking will be designated and directed by event staff. No parking is permitted in front of the stalls.
